Ernest was an incredible person. I met him in 2011 when I travelled to Kentucky with his cousin. He was still fixing things around his farm, cleaning out the ditches, driving around with his tractor. His stories about the history of his family and other members of the community were insightful and captivating. By far, the most hospitable person I have ever known. His stories about the history of his family and other members of the community were insightful and captivating. By far, the most hospitable person I have ever known. I was fortunate enough to have visited him several times. He was grounded in his faith, an extremely hard worker, always willing to lend a helping hand to others, very patient, thoughtful and slow to anger. He always treated me with kindness. He will always inspire me to be a better person. I will miss my good friend. God Bless you Ernest and Rest in Peace.

Wanda and family,
I am very sorry for your loss. Ernest was a great, long time friend, as well as a family member. He was kind, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. We spent many days visiting relatives, cemeteries, placing headstones on unmarked graves, and gathering family information throughout Muhlenberg, Ohio, and surrounding counties. Over the years, I visited Ernest and Marcy many times and often spoke with them by phone. They were gracious and hospitable hosts. I am grateful for his support and

I am grateful for his support and help when researching and writing a book about several area families, without which the book could not have been completed. He will be long remembered and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. RIP, Ernest.

Ernest was a family historian for the Fulkerson family and generally such a wonderful person. He and his daughter Wanda welcomed me and my husband and our then-young family to his farm, and both he and Wanda were happy to share a wealth of information about our mutual family history. To this day, the kids talk about Cousin Ernest and how kind he was to us and what a special day we got to spend with him. As we were

To this day, the kids talk about Cousin Ernest and how kind he was to us and what a special day we got to spend with him. As we were leaving the area, he made sure to help us find our way to the highway--and in a way that reminded me so much of my own father. I think the way he led his life proves love does run in families. It was only for an afternoon, but in that afternoon he showed me and my family such warmth and hospitality. And I'll always be grateful to him and to Wanda and her husband Jimmie for that wonderful time we had with them. Ernest and his family will be in our prayers.
