GREENVILLE – Alfred Joseph McElroy, 84, of Greenville, died, Saturday, January 24, 2015 at his residence in Greenville. He was born March 25, 1930 in Boston, MASS., he was retired U. S. Military and coal miner.

Survivors include his wife, Mona Lacefield McElroy, two daughters, Lorna G. McElroy and Jami N. Nelson, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three brothers, Lionel McElroy, Robert McElroy and Richey McElroy and two sisters, Katherine Wilkison and Janet Lafever.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City conducted by Mr. Jimmy Jenkins with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Monday and after 8:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
