CENTRAL CITY - Anna Murrel Smith, 87, of Central City, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 7:50AM at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born August 23, 1928, in Ohio County, the daughter of the late Archie and Ollie Pierce of Moorman. Anna retired from G.E. after 28 years of service, and she also worked for Stewarts IGA for many years. She was a member of Jubilee Church of God in Greenville, where she was very active in her church. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harlan Pierce; her nephews, Carl Pierce, Herbert Pierce, and Herschel Pierce; and her husband Garnett Smith, all of Moorman.

She is survived by her daughters, Doris Smith of Greenville, Patricia (David) Cron of Central City, and Clarice Dennis of Franklin, TN; grandchildren Michael (Christy) Barnett of Sacramento, Bishop Shea (Abigail) Hughes of Bethalto, IL, Bishop Andy (Jennifer) Hughes of Franklin, TN, Nicolas (April) Barnett of Central City, and Clint (Lauren) Cron of Shepherdsville; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at 2:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. David Cron officiating, assisted by Bishop Shea Hughes and Michael Barnett. Burial in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday after 6:00PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
