CENTRAL CITY - Bettye Jo Ray, 85, of Central City, died Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at 8:11AM at her home. Mrs. Ray was born November 23, 1933, in Muhlenberg County. She was a bookkeeper at Citizens Union Bank, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Central City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leamon Ray; brother Johnny Roark; and sister Wanda Roark.

She is survived by her sons, John Aaron (Mary Lou) Ray of Owensboro and Scott (Sally) Ray of Central City; grandchildren Andrew (Elizabeth) Ray of Fairview, TX, Alex (Amanda) Ray of Nashville, Seth (Haley) Ray of Central City, Hunter (Kaitlin) Ray of Central City, Royce Vinson of Meso, AZ, and Virginia Vinson of Owensboro; four great-grandchildren; and sister Patsy Joyce Dukes.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 8, 2019, at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Chase Thompson officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8PM at the funeral home. The family would like to say a special thanks to her private sitters: Susan Thompson, June McRoy, Shelia Campbell, Chasity Gunn, Angel Garrett, and Shelia Johnson. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Central City Public Library or First Baptist Church in Central City. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
