BOWLING GREEN-Billie Louis McCoy, 81 of Bowling Green, KY formerly of Drakesboro, KY passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Rochester, KY, May 11, 1937. He was a member of St. Paul A.M.E Zion Church in Drakesboro, KY until it closed and merged with St. James A.M.E Zion Church in Central City, KY. Billie graduated from Drakesboro Community High School in 1955 and after high school he served in the US Navy for four years. He worked at GE in Louisville, KY from 1966 to 1975. In 1975 he began working at Peabody Coal Mines were he remained for ten years. He retired from TVA in Drakesboro, KY in 2003 after 14 years of service. He loved his music, playing pool, fishing, BBQ and was a devoted Louisville Cardinals fan. He was the son of the late Walter McCoy and Cliffie Cartwright McCoy. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Reed, Eugene McCoy, and Bobby McCoy. Survivors include his wife, Ebbie Jones McCoy of 58 years and his children, Joanna McCoy, Keith McCoy, Gail Barbour (Michael), and Charles McCoy (Julie), and three grandchildren, Tamia Barbour, Tiara Barbour and Braxton McCoy all of Bowling Green, KY. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends. Funeral services will take place on Thursday,March 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. James A.M.E Zion Church in Central City, KY with visitation at 10:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow immediately at Browder Cemetery in Browder, KY. Online condolencec may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
