GREENVILLE- Billy Thomas Kelly, age 93, of Greenville, KY died Saturday September 12, 2015 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. He was born August 17, 1922 in Muhlenberg County, KY.

He was the son of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Kelly. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Peggy) Kelly and son James (Jimmy) Kelly.

He was a 1940 graduate of Central City High School.. He was a United States Army Combat Infantry Veteran of World War II. He was involved in D-Day (Normandy), The Battle of the Bulge and several companies in France and Germany. He received the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and several campaign commendations.

He was a long time member and Elder of First Presbyterian Church in Central City KY. He was a 20 year member of the selective local draft board. He retired from K U Green River Power Station after 30 years service. He was a long time member and Past Master of Central Lodge #673 F&AM, Rizpah Shrine Temple (both York Rite & Scottish Rite bodies) and several civic organizations.

He is survived by sons; William Trent and Betty Kelly of Central City, Michael Chatham and Deborah Kelly of Central City, KY and Joseph Thomas Kelly of Greenville KY. Grandson; Christopher and Vicky Miller of Evansville IN, Granddaughter; Angela and Peter Holbrook of Dunmor, KY, Great-Grandsons; Andrew Tyler Walters of Central City, KY, Dalton Glenn Holbrook of Dunmor, KY, Matthew Nathaniel Miller , Great-Granddaughter Natalie Ann Miller both of Evansville IN, and step-great grandson; Jordan Holbrook of Dunmor, KY, 6 nieces and 1 nephew.

Funereal services will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Archie Fugate Jr. officiating, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville . Visitation will be Wednesday after 5:00 PM with Masonic services at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Central City KY(local Mission), Central City Volunteer Fire Department or the Muhlenberg County Humane Society.
