CENTRAL CITY- Carol Lee Ellis Keown, 69, of Central City passed away peacefully Friday, March 25, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville with her husband by her side. She was born in Muhlenberg County on July 2, 1946 to Carroll and Awilda Ellis. Throughout her life she always loved children and had a deep love for her family. Carol Lee grew up in Central City and was a 1964 graduate of Central City High School. After high school she attended Spencerian College in Louisville. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Central City where she also volunteered as a receptionist. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren Kaylea and Lucas.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, William R. "Bill/BO"; sons, Brad (Wendy Atherton) Keown of Elizabethtown and Mike Keown of Greenville; grandchildren, Kaylea Rose of Greenville and William Lucas of Elizabethtown; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church in Central City with Dr. Kevin Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Central City. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 27, 2016 at 5:00 PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City and on Monday after 9:00 AM at the church.
