Clarence Brown 10/19/2008 Clarence Brown, 77, of Greenville died Saturday, Oct. 18,
2008. Mr. Brown was a Korean War veteran and retired from Stitzel-Weller Cold Fitzgerald
Distillery in Shively. He was a native of Ohio County, was raised in Muhlenberg County, spent his
working years in Jefferson County and, upon retirement, returned him to Muhlenberg County. He was
preceded in death by his brother, Billy Brown; his father, Cager Brown; and his mother, Artie
Smith. Survivors include a daughter, Cindy (David) Anderson of Central City; a son, Wendell
(Jody) Brown of Louisville; three brothers, Kenneth Brown, Johnnie Brown and Shelby Brown, all of
Central City; a sister, Mildred Scott of Slaughters; four granddaughters, Amanda Carneal,
Courtney Brooks, Emily Brooks and Wendy Brown; two great-grandchildren, Braydon Carneal and
Hayleigh Travis; and his former wife, Ruth Darst of Louisville. Mr. Brown will be remembered for
the ease with which he made friends wherever he lived and for the immeasurable love for his
children, grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Tucker
Funeral Home. Services are at 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. J.W. Haire officiating and the Rev.
Tim Camplin assisting. Burial will be in Union Church Cemetery in Butler County. Online
