GREENVILLE - Cordie Mae Johnson, 94, formerly of Greenville, KY passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 11:04 p.m. peacefully at Signature Healthcare East in Louisville, KY with her family by her side. She was born in Greenville, KY to Lee and Gertie Rice Johnson on April 23, 1919. Cordie was a Field Representative and Area Coordinator with Pennyrile Allied Community Services (PACS) for over thirty-four years. Cordie was committed to helping others and even after her retirement in 2000, she continued to volunteer and faithfully serve her community in many capacities.

Cordie had accepted Christ and she loved her Wesley Chapel Church family. She was active in her church for many years and served on numerous boards and committees. She was the recipient of countless accolades and awards throughout her lifetime. Cordie was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Gertie Johnson, daughter, Dorothy Louise Bey, grandson, Julian Chad Elliott, her siblings, Robert Johnson, Leroy Johnson, Arthur Johnson, Will Henry Johnson, Edward Lucas, Neverlyn Robinson and Dorothy Bingham.

Left to carry on her beautiful memory are her children; Benjamin (Marie) Pritchett of Philadelphia, PA, David Wayne Jernigan of Gary, IN, Charlotte Ann (Larry) Elliott of Louisville, KY, Pat (Paul "Marty") Martin of Greenville, KY.; nine grandchildren; Anthony and Kenny Pritchett, Ramona and Rachel Pritchett, Chris and Renee Bey, Heather Elliott Mundell, Lauren and Allison Martin; numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Miss Cordie or "Granny Cordie" as some had been known to affectionately call her is also survived by her "Sister in Christ", Mrs. Dorothy Martin of Greenville, KY and an "adopted" daughter, Ms. Verlean Devitt of Gary, IN; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.

Visitation is Friday, September 20, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, KY. Burial in West End Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Saturday, September 21 from 12-1 with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, 402 Hopkinsville Street, Greenville, KY. Rev.
