CENTRAL CITY - Donald Patrick Monaghan, 84, of Central City, died Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 4:18AM at his home. Mr. Monaghan was born December 15, 1933, in Muhlenberg County. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and was a retired AMCS Metal Smith with the U.S. Navy. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and Grand Knight 4th degree. He volunteered at the Food Pantry for 21 years, and was involved in many activities at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a loving husband and father.

He is survived by his wife, Joan LaBuda Monaghan; sons Martin (Kathy) Monaghan and Jerome (Lisa) Monaghan; daughters Marita (Scott) Lowe and Donna (Tim) Krist; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and sisters Sister Michael Ann Monaghan and Sister June Monaghan.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 6, 2018, at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Josh McCarty officiating. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church and Saturday after 9:00AM at the church. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
