DRAKESBORO - Doris Sue Garrett, 78, of Drakesboro, died Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 4:20AM at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mrs. Garrett was born August 17, 1941, in Muhlenberg County. She was a food service cook with the Muhlenberg County Board of Education, and was of the Baptist faith. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved to sew. She was a Mom and Mamaw to many. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tiffany Haley Williams; husband Douglas Earl Garrett; mother Rena Mae Thompson; father Estel Ray Thompson; and brothers Ray Thompson and Eugene Thompson.

She is survived by her daughters, Belinda (Steve) Staples of Drakesboro, Phyllis (Steve) Harris of Central City, and Peggy (Tommy) Haley of Flowery Branch, GA; brother Terry Thompson; grandchildren Stuart, Brian, Jessica, Bridget, Jeremy, Preston, and Taylor; great-grandchildren Paxton, Nolan, Payton, Raven, Ember, Conner, Jaylen, Zoee, Parker, and Karson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 9, 2019, at 10:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Bobby Allen officiating. Burial in Coleman Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday after 5:00PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
