GREENVILLE - Elmer Ray "Buck" Nieberg, Jr., 84, of Greenville, died Sunday, May 11, 2014, at 8:35PM at his home. Mr. Nieberg was born August 26, 1929 in Covington. He worked in law enforcement, was a U.S. Army veteran, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenville. He graduated from Holmes High School in Covington, and attended Morehead State University. He was a member of the American Legion in Florida, and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Nieberg Sr. and Mamie Hunter Nieberg; sisters Beverly Hedlund and Carol King; and great-grandson Jerod Nieberg.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Sallie McLean Nieberg; sons Gregg Nieberg and wife Sara Acosta of Greenville, and Donald Wayne Nieberg of Greenville; grandchildren Alex Nieberg, Jonathan Nieberg, and Darrein Nieberg; and great-grandchild Kaden Mathis.

Graveside funeral services will be Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 11:00AM at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, with Dr. Timothy H. Davis officiating. Burial to follow. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301; Kentucky Sherriffs Boys and Girls Ranch, P.O.
