PENROD - Glenn D. Alexander, 55, of Penrod went home to be with his heavenly father on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 4:50PM at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN. Mr. Alexander was born April 29, 1956 in Muhlenberg County. He was retired from HB Reeds in Drakesboro, and was a member of the New Hebron Baptist Church in Penrod where he served as Chairman Deacon. He was a member of Laborers Union Local 1392 and was an honorary Kentucky Colonel. He was the owner/operator of Saber Fishing Lures and was a former member of the Central City Chamber of Commerce. In 2005 - 2006 he was a member of and served as President of the Greenville Lions Club. He was a member of the Muhlenberg NWTF and helped organize the Logan County and Butler County NWTF Chapters. His interests included hunting, fishing, music, and making turkey box calls.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years Betty Gardner Alexander; sons Matthew Glenn (Chasity) Alexander of Central City and Mark Tyler Alexander of Penrod; parents Ray Dan and Ada Sue Vincent Alexander of Penrod; brothers Eddie and Sherry Alexander of Lewisburg and David and Shawn Alexander of Beechmont; sisters Mary Ann and Ken Curtis of Central City, Dorothy and Karl Reynolds of Penrod, and Jackie and Andy Anderson of Penrod; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. Todd Webster officiating. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday after 5:00PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
