GREENVILLE- Guy Dennis Martin, Jr. 87, of Greenville passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a short illness. He was born December 13, 1927 in Greenville to the late Guy Dennis Marin, Sr. and Mabel Sparks Martin. He was a 1945 graduate of Greenville High School and received a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from University of Kentucky (formerly the Louisville College of Pharmacy) in 1949 where he met his wife of 48 years, Rose Marie Dunn Martin. Guy and Rose worked for Williams and Wells Drug in Greenville and purchased the business in 1960 where they proudly served the community until 1990. Guy was avid music fan and loved to play piano and organ. He was a lifetime member of Greenville United Methodist Church where he served as the church organist for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Pond River Masonic Lodge 244 in Greenville for 65 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife as well as a brother Thomas Joseph Martin.

Guy is survived by his twin sister, Helen Dennis Martin Nolen of Louisville, KY, 3 sons; Greg (Donna) Martin and Keith Martin both of Greenville and Tommy (Carlene) Martin of Gatlinburg, TN; 6 grandson; Neil Martin, Jon Martin, Brandon Martin, Justin Martin, Logan Martin, and Joshua Martin; 2 great grandson Christian Martin and Simon Martin, as well as 2 nieces and a nephew.

There will be no visitation prior to the burial. A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville at 2pm conducted by the Reverends Greg Tate and John Galyen. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 2pm on Sunday, March 15 at the Greenville United Methodist Church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Greenville United Methodist Church in Guy's name.
