Hughie Lee Hendricks GRAHAM -- Hughie Lee Hendricks, 82, of Graham went to be with the
Lord on Jan. 29, 2009, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital, following a lingering illness. He was
born in Berkley, Mich., on Sept. 20, 1926, the son of Jack and Anna Mae Locke Hendricks. He was
in retail sales for more than 30 years in Berkley and, after retiring, moved to Muhlenberg County
in 1977, where he worked at the Graham School, then retired from there in 1988. He was a member
of East Union Baptist Church, where he was a former Sunday school director and teacher. He was
preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Hendricks; and his first wife, Grace Brand
Hendricks. Survivors include his wife, Helen Vaught Hendricks; a son, Gary Hendricks of Michigan;
a stepdaughter, Patsy Byrum of Clay; stepsons Jerry Vaught of Browder, Wayne Vaught of
Madisonville and Allen Vaught of Henderson; a daughter-in-law, Linda Drolett of Michigan; a
sister-in-law, Mary Ann Rolfes of Greenville; a niece; a nephew; four great-nephews; five
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and four
stepgreat-grandchildren. Services were Monday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, conducted
by Dr. Chris Vaught, with burial in the Corley Chapel Cemetery in Graham.
