CENTRAL CITY – James David "Jimmy" Burden, 77, of Central City, died Monday, September 7, 2020, at 4:45PM at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mr. Burden was born March 29, 1943, in Muhlenberg County. He was a retired coal miner and logger. He loved his family, being a cowboy, the Green River, and country music. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sonnie and Pansy Burden, Sr.; brother Billy Burden; and sisters Betty Thompson and Jean Mackey.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Harper Burden; daughter Sherry France; grandchildren Ashley (Jesse) Vincent and Whitley (Matt) Howland; great-grandchildren Tryson "Tricycle" Settle, Taelyn "Pickle" Settle, Tripp "Cowboy" Settle, McKenna "Little Mac" Howland, and Sawyer "Smoky Joe" Vincent; and brother Sonnie (Dana) Burden, Jr.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Mike Neal officiating. Burial in New Harmony Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday after 11:30AM at the funeral home. Family and friends who are attending the visitation or funeral service are asked to wear a face mask for the safety of all those in attendance, in accordance with the governor's mandate.
