CLEATON - James Franklin Bivens, 86, of Cleaton, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 7:44PM at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mr. Bivens was born February 8, 1924 in Muhlenberg County. He was a retired coal miner and member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness Church in Central City. He was a veteran of WWII, was with the combat engineers, and served in Germany, France, and North Africa.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia Benson Bivens; a son, Steve (Kathy) Bivens of Central City; stepsons Gary (Darlene) Benson of Drakesboro and Steve (Tracie) Benson of Fort Branch, IN; grandchildren Lee (Mindy) Bivens of Greenville, Corey Bivens of Central City, and Krissy (Skeet) Freeman of Bowling Green; several step-grandchildren and a sister, Nell Stearman of Providence.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Ron Cary officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday after 5:00PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at
