CENTRAL CITY - James Robert Nelson, 75, of Central City, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 7:35PM after a lengthy illness. Mr. Nelson was born September 19, 1942, in Mt. Vernon, IL. He retired from the United States Army after 25 years of service. He was also retired from TVA Labor Union and was a PACS driver. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Earl and Lula Nelson; first wife Marilyn Sue Nelson; and second wife Delois Nelson.

He is survived by his son, Karl "Tony" (Valerie) Nelson of Central City; daughter Rebecca (Mike) McConnell of Edinboro, PA; sisters Ida Nell Duncan and Karen Kittinger, both of South Carrollton; step-sons Troy Wilson, Sean Wilson, and Issac Wilson; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 10:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Leslie Duncan officiating, assisted by Tony Nelson. Burial in Nelson Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday after 5:00PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
