GREENVILLE- James Robert "Sag" Whittinghill, age 81, of Greenville, died Friday, April 26, 2013 at 8:45PM at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mr.Whittinghill was born June 17, 1931 in Midland, KY. He was a retired coal miner of 38 years and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.J. and Annie Whittinghill; two sisters, Edna Mae Koon and Mary Helen Whittinghill; and two brothers, Thomas Whittinghill and Harold Lee Whittinghill.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Barbara Jean Roark Whittinghill; a son, Randy (Vicky) Whittinghill of Illinois; a daughter, Marsha Smith of Greenville; five grandchildren, Josh (Natalie) Smith, Macy Smith, Jamie Dobbs, Cody Whittinghill, and Wesley (Ashley) Mohon; seven great grandchildren; three brothers, W.G. Whittinghill of Hopkinsville, Donald Whittinghill of Bremen, and Bill Whittinghill of Greenville; and a sister, Barbara Stafford of Greenville.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 29, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Josh Smith officiating and Bro. Scott Casebier assisting. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday after 4:00PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at
