GREENVILLE - Kata Jo McPherson Wilson, of Greenville, died November 15, 2019, in Georgetown, KY where she was a resident of Dover Manor for over 9 years.

Kata was born August 24, 1933, and raised in the farm lands of Rosewood, KY, the daughter of William Elijah McPherson and Ruth Gregory McPherson. She had five sisters Corine Carver, Margaret Greenfield, Louisa Petrie, Bonnie Rogers Bouland, and Shirley Willis, all deceased. She was married to the late Charles E. Wilson of Greenville.

Kata and Charlie had several businesses in Greenville over the years; Fairway Market, Big John's Groceries, and Pick `N Shovel Restaurant, and were involved in many community services. Many also remember her as serving many delicious meals at Lake Malone Inn or as their paint specialist at Malone Lumber and Do It Center.

Kata was preceded in death by her son Scot Wilson. She is survived by her son, Rick Wilson (Brenda) of Georgetown and daughter, Dana Knight (Billy) of Bowling Green, grandchildren, Amber Mitchell Brown (Pete), Clay Wilson (Deneé), Weston Wilson (Amber), and Jacob Knight, and a great-grandson Luke Brown. Step-grandchildren Kristin Dukes (Cory), Matt Knight (Emily), Kayla Doss (Karson), Step-great-grandchildren Thomas Dukes, Skylar Williams, Colton Carver, Cooper Carver, Luke Knight, and Mason Knight.

Services will be at Tucker Funeral Home, 113 N 3rd St, Central City, KY on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at 2:00 p.m, with Rev. Randall Petrie officiating, assisted by Rev. Bill Clement. Visitation is Friday the 22nd from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday the 23rd from 9:00a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Greenville, KY.
