DRAKESBORO - Larry Rex Jenkins, Sr., 76, of Drakesboro, died Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at 4:51PM at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Mr. Jenkins was born April 2, 1939, in Muhlenberg County. He was a heavy equipment operator with Peabody Coal Co., and was a Jehovah's Witness. Mr. Jenkins was a people person and loved being around people. He was an artist and carved walking sticks and hummingbirds. He was also an avid UK basketball fan. He attended ministry school in Pittsburgh. He also owned and loved horses. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Ruby Jenkins; and a sister, Judy Rager.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Lear Jenkins; children Angel (Bo) Perry of Drakesboro, Larry "Rex" (Jennie) Jenkins of Drakesboro, Wade Jenkins of Browder, and Amy (Tracy) Bratcher of Drakesboro; grandchildren Larrah, Cody, Brandon, Kaylee, and Alisa; great-grandchildren A'Layah, Joanna, and Audrey; sister Brenda Dukes of Ennis; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 11, 2015, at 11:00AM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bro. Martin Nale officiating. Burial in Highway Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday after 5:00PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
