GREENVILLE – Letha Irene (Phillips) Jessup, 90, of Greenville, died Monday, February 20, 2017, at 8:00PM at The Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice in Paducah, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Jessup was born July 22, 1926, in Muhlenberg County. She was a posting clerk at The Municipal Water Office in Madisonville, and also was a medication technician at Belle Meade Nursing Home in Greenville. She was a member of Cave Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Jessup loved to paint, sew, and crochet. Nobody loved animals and pets more than "Mima". She would defend her pets like a mother bear, and her compassion for all animals was unsurpassed. She was an excellent cook and was devoted to her husband of 67 years. She so enjoyed her family and friends, and especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Burton Jessup, Jr.; and parents Floyd and Della (Lee) Phillips.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Jessup of Paducah; son Dennis (Barbara) Jessup of Paducah; grandchildren Andra Jessup and Jared (Misty) Jessup; and great-grandchildren Brinley and Korbin.

Graveside funeral services will be Friday, February 24, 2017, at 1:00PM at Friendship Cemetery in Greenville, with Rev. Ricky Peterson officiating. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The Humane Society of the United States or ASPCA. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
