CENTRAL CITY - Mae Evelyn Christmas, 70, of Central City, died Monday, March 30, 2020, at 7:18PM at her home. Mrs. Christmas was born October 18, 1949, in Muhlenberg County. She was owner of Uptown Café, where she was also a waitress. She was a member of Central City City Council. Mae and her late husband, Ferrell, were very involved in fundraising for Make a Better Christmas, Make a Wish, and other various charities for those in need in Muhlenberg County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferrell Christmas; parents Tifford and Olivia Mayes; and brothers Carl Mayes, Rev. Estil Mayes, Shelby Mayes, and Hilbert Mayes.

She is survived by her son, Ricky (Linda) Deason of Central City; grandchildren Justin (Jamie) Deason and Laura Beth Deason, both of Central City; great-grandchildren Wyatt and Kaelyn Pryor; brother Wavy Mayes of Shepherdsville; and several nieces and nephews.

In compliance with health and public safety directives, the funeral arrangements for Mrs. Christmas will be private for immediate family only, with private burial. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at
