BREMEN - Mary Edith Mondientz, 77, of Bremen, died Monday, May 1, 2017, at 3:05PM at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mrs. Mondientz was born February 5, 1940, in Central City. She was owner of an ice cream and tea shop, and a dress boutique, in Chesterton, IN. She was a seamstress and was of the Baptist faith. She married her husband, Howard , on February 14, 1983. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Pearl Payton; husband, Howard A. Mondientz; sisters Martha Malin, Mildren Denney, Bernice Bullock, and Donna Kane; and grandson Paul A. Myers.

She is survived by her son, Jay (Kathy) Ford of Bremen; daughter Valisa Myers of Panama City Beach, FL; brother Tom (Linda) Payton of Sterling, IL; six grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 5, 2017, at 11:00AM at New Harmony Baptist Church in Bremen, with Rev. Dan Yeager officiating. Visitation will be Friday after 10:00AM at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Western Kentucky. Envelopes will be available at the church. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
