He was an active member of Mercer Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for many years. He was an avid hunter, spending many hours in the woods with his son. He enjoyed being out on the farm, whether it be on the tractor or messing with the horses with his daughter.

Randy worked for Boardwalk Pipelines for 43 years and retired in January of 2017. He was an active member of the Community choir and always enjoyed singing. Most of all, he loved serving the Lord and spending time with his family. He was a great husband, father, brother, and friend to all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Gladys Ward; and his father and mother-in-law, TJ and Gladys Newman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Ruthann Ward; son and daughter-in-law, Jake and Miss Emilee Ward; daughter Jaclyn Welborne; grandson Klayton Welborne; brother Kenny (Karen) Ward; sisters Linda (Jerry) Humphrey, Glenda (Larry) Browning, Donna (Ronnie) Grace, and Lois (Wayne) Farris; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
