GREENVILLE – Richard Michael Spears, 65, of Greenville, went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2017, following a short illness. He is preceded in death by his mother, Zelmodene Adams; step-father Richard Adams; father Richard Spears; grandparents Lois and Thelma Culbertson and Joe and Rethel Spears; and brother Steve Spears.

He was a proud member of Woodson Baptist Church. He was a tool maker at General Electric in Madisonville for 34 years. He was an avid cartoon artist and Goldwing rider.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandy Spears of Greenville; one daughter, Courtney Rhiannon Spears of Madisonville; two sisters, Melody Gary of LaGrange and Marilyn (Todd) Peveler of Powderly; four brothers, Randy (Lydia) Adams of Greenville , David Adams of Powderly, Daniel (Doris) Adams of Greenville, and Robert Spears of Illinois; and many special nieces and nephews he loved very much, and aunts, uncles, and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 24, 2017, at 2:00PM at Woodson Baptist Church, with Bro. Nick Duvall officiating. Burial in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday after 5:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Mr. Spears will lie in state at Woodson Baptist Church on Friday after 10:00AM. Online condolences may be made at
