Rev. Ted Wayne Everly CENTRAL CITY -- The Rev. Ted Wayne Everly, 70, of 333 Everly
Brothers Blvd., Central City, died at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at Muhlenberg Community
Hospital, Greenville. He was born in Chicago on Aug. 19, 1938, and was the pastor and founder of
The Lighthouse Baptist Church in Central City since 1974. Prior to that he was the pastor of the
Victory Baptist Church in Chicago and assistant pastor at Jordan Baptist Church in Oaklawn, Ill.
He also was the owner of Everly Auto Sales in Central City. He is survived by his wife, Shelby
Everly; sons, Steven (Connie) Everly of Earlington, Larry Everly of Anniston, Ala., and David
(Wendy) Everly of Central City; daughters, Kim (Dudley) Morton of Pleasant View, Tenn., and
Katherine (Adam) Griffin of Central City; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother,
Darris Everly of Central City; and a sister, Connie Giageos of Central City. Funeral services
will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lighthouse Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Brothers officiating,
assisted by Rev. Otis Cunningham. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City. The family requests that
expressions sympathy be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the
funeral home. Rev. Everly will lie in state Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the service
