GREENVILLE - Vernis Wayne Piper, 70, of Greenville, died Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 10:23AM at Baptist Health in Madisonville. Mr. Piper was born June 19, 1945 in Muhlenberg County. He was a Saw Mill Worker and of the Pentecostal faith. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Wayne Piper; and a daughter, Teresa Gail Piper.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Dean Eaves Piper; sons Kenneth Wayne Piper, Jeffery Wayne Piper, and Jason Lee Piper; daughter Brenda Sue Geary; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and sisters Katherine Kens and Brenda Dees.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 4:00 PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Bishop William Geary officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00PM until funeral time and continue following the service until 6:00PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at
