BEECHMONT - Viola Cottrell, 95, of Beechmont passed away Monday, January 8, 2018, at Diversicare in Greenville, KY. Viola was born October 13, 1922, in Bowling Green, KY to John and Gertie Tucker. Viola married her true love, Alford Cottrell on January 28, 1939. They resided in the Beechmont area all of their married life. They were instrumental in founding Beechmont Baptist Church which she still loved to attend whenever she could. She was a beautician until she retired. She also had many other occupations in her lifetime. She worked at the Company Store in Browder, she and Alford sold cookware, they also owned Cottrell's Saddle Shop for several years. She later worked at Beech Bend and Music City Raceway for her daughter and son-in-law.

Survivors include her daughter, Alfreda (Dallas) Jones of Bowling Green, Grandchildren, Debby (Steve) Ingram of Beechmont, Donnie (Rebecca) Baker of Greenville, Charlotte (Rick) Gonzalez of Hendersonville, TN, Susan (Jamie) Toomey of Beechmont, Dana (Jonathan) Porter of Beechmont. Great grandchildren include Brandon (Tina) Baker of Greenville, Chris (Kiersten) Steele of Hopkinsville, Jessica (Tim) Cotton of Beechmont, Broc (Rebecca) Porter of Bowling Green, Brianne (Jacob) Fortney of Beechmont, Reed (Danielle) Gonzalez of Sun Prairie, WI, Rachel Gonzalez and Grant Gonzalez of Hendersonville, TN and Clacey Jones of Beechmont. Several great great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband Alford Cottrell, her daughter, Mary (JR) Baker of Beechmont, a grandson, Clay Jones of Beechmont and a great granddaughter Suzanne Williams of Beechmont.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 11, 2018, at 2:00PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with Bro. Daxton Lear officiating. Burial will be in Old Jackson Cemetary. Visitation will be Wednesday after 5:00 PM and Thursday after 11:00AM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Beechmont Baptist Church.
