CENTRAL CITY – William "Butch" McElvain, 68, of Central City, died Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was born on January 11, 1946 in Chicago, IL. and was a factory worker. Mr. McElvain is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Nadine McElvain, a brother, Gerald McElvain and a sister, Willodean McElvain.

Survivors include his sons, Rev. Steve McElvain of Bremen, Scott McElvain of Greenville and Eric McElvain of Beechmont, grandson, Andrew William, granddaughters, Ashlyn McElvain and Keylee McElvain, brothers, Glenn McElvain of Nelson Creek and Raymond McElvain of Powderly, sisters, Donna McElvain of Powderly and Shirley Groves.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Powers Chapel General Baptist Church in Bremen conducted by Rev. Steve McElvain, burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Saturday at Powers Chapel General Baptist Church.
