CENTRAL CITY - William Caldwell Carroll, 91, of Central City, died Sunday, January 28, 2018, at 11:55AM at West Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson. Mr. Carroll was born October 27, 1926, in Muhlenberg County. He was a carpenter for Illinois Central Railroad and a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edd and Lillie Carroll; brothers Alvey Carroll and Harvey Carroll; and sisters Opal Wilson, Hazel Grace, Margaret Byrd, and Lillie Beasley.

He is survived by his wife, Doreen White Carroll; children Betty (Danny) Hendrix of Greenville and Shirley (Bob) Cron of Wiley, TX; grandchildren Cindy Caycedo, Kathy (Steve) Coleman, Jason (Brittany) Whitworth, Justin Whitworth, Michelle (Bennie) Hendrix, and Keith Hendrix; five great-grandchildren; and brothers Arthur (Sophie) Carroll of Central City and Kenneth (Sharon) Carroll of Evansville, IN.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at 1:00PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, with Rev. David Fall officiating. Burial in Island Methodist Community Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday after 5:00PM and Wednesday after 10:00AM at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to South Carrollton Methodist Church.
