CITY -- Zelma Opal Timmins Wardrip, 80, of Central City died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at Maple
Manor Healthcare Center in Greenville. She was born Feb. 15, 1929, in Yale, Okla. She was a
homemaker and very active member of First United Methodist Church in Central City until her
illness. She was a tireless volunteer for the American Red Cross and was instrumental in helping
veterans during the Vietnam War. She was an officer and influential member of her local Tops
organization. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Lloyd Wardrip; her
parents, George Luke Timmins and Marilla Timmins; a brother, George Mansfield Timmins; and a half
brother, Charlie Timmins. Survivors include a daughter, Donna (David) Hunt of Louisville; a son,
Larry (Kim) Wardrip of Greenville; grandchildren Jennifer (Jimmy Bryant) Hunt of Central City,
Whitney (Billy) Millay of Greenville and Seth Wardrip of Greenville; and a great-grandson, Trent
Dragoo of Central City. Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City,
with Dr. Ray England officiating, assisted by Dr. Kevin Brown. Burial will be in Rose Hill
Cemetery in Central City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Online
