BELTON — David Michael Blake, 32, of Belton was called home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012. David was born on Sept. 11, 1979. He was a 1997 graduate of Muhlenberg South High School where he was very active in FFA. David had an infectious personality and never met a stranger. It was in part his love for people that he became interested in auctioneering while a member of FFA, winning several awards for his talent. After graduating, he continued to pursue two of his passions, riding and caring for horses and auctioneering. He became a professional auctioneer and was well-known throughout the South for his abilities, auctioneering for personal and estate sales, horse auctions and car auctions. David also was well known for his kind and loving spirit, often donating his auctioneering services for benefits and charities. He left full-time auctioneering to pursue a career in the underground coal mines. He was currently employed at Parkway Mines. David was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was a member of Leigh's Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy Miller and Harold and Mary Frances Blake.

David is survived by his wife of nine years, Angie Blake of Belton; his daughter, Megan Blake of Belton; his parents, Joe (Tammy) Blake of Penrod and Yvonne (Neal) Travis of Belton; his brother, Jason (Amy) Blake of Belton; his mother and father-in-law, Finis and Brenda Todd and their family of Madisonville; his nephew, Shane Blake of Belton; his grandmother, Imogene Miller of Belton; four stepbrothers; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hazel Creek Baptist Church, Belton, with the Rev. Terry Chaney officiating. Visitation is after 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at
